Rocket man: Free admission to the Rocket Center for Father’s Day

(U.S. Space & Rocket Center/Facebook contributed)

HUNTSVILLE – Give your world’s greatest dad an out of this world experience at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center on Father’s Day.

Dad gets in free with one paid admission, kids!

It’s a great time to check out new exhibits and additions to the Rocket Cente, such as the 50th anniversary of America’s first space station – the Summer of Skylab series.

The Father’s Day program is called “The Science of Skylab” and takes place at 2 p.m. in the Discovery Theater behind the main ticket desk.

The discussion focuses on the range of experiments done during Skylab’s three missions, including projects submitted by students. The Skylab program was the first time NASA engaged students across the country to contribute their ideas for scientific research.

Also, check out a model of the Blue Origin capsule William Shatner and Jeff Bezos took into orbit – only on display at the Rocket Center for a few more weeks.

The Space & Rocket Center has one of the largest collections of rockets and space memorabilia on display anywhere in the world.

Dad can catch a show in the Intuitive Planetarium or enjoy the Apollo Virtual Reality Experience in the VR Gallery.

The center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
