Rolling along for 250 years: Redstone Arsenal celebrates Army’s birthday

HUNTSVILLE — Some close friends will be dropping in Saturday for the Army’s 250th Birthday Celebration at Redstone Gateway.

Yes. Literally dropping in.

The Golden Knights, the Army’s parachute team, are the featured guests for the celebration event with their arrival set for around 4 p.m.

Redstone Arsenal’s annual event includes music, food, a car show, vendor shopping, fireworks and the Golden Knights as a special treat to commemorate the 250th birthday. The Golden Knights last performed at Redstone’s Army birthday celebration in 2022.

The celebration is 3-9 p.m. at Redstone Gateway, outside Gate 9. The event is free and open to the public. Redstone Family and MWR, Redstone Gateway, the city of Huntsville, and Huntsville Music Office are presenting the event.

The Gateway’s restaurants will be open and joined by food trucks, providing a variety of meal and dessert options. Entertainment includes a DJ and the Boot Scootin Boogie Nights band from Nashville.

The celebration concludes with a spectacular, patriotic 25-minute fireworks show.
