Sand Mountain Skate moving to downtown Albertville

ALBERTVILLE — As the hit single from the 1960s says, “You’ll like it when you go downtown.”

And, for Albertville, downtown is the place to be when Sand Mountain Skate opens Nov. 21 in the Farmers Market parking area.

“We’re thrilled to make this transition,” said Jessica Ryan, senior director of business development, Sand Mountain Park & Amphitheater. “The Downtown Albertville Farmers Market offers the perfect backdrop for skating. It’s a place where the community already gathers, and we believe it will enhance the Christmas experience for both seasoned skaters and newcomers.”

The decision to relocate aligns with the city’s vision of fostering community engagement and making downtown Albertville a hub for activities and events.

“Sand Mountain Skate’s relocation to downtown is a wonderful addition to our city center,” said Mayor Tracey Honea. “It’s an exciting opportunity to bring more people to the heart of Albertville, and it reflects our ongoing commitment to revitalizing the area and offering more activities for families and young people.

“We’re proud to support our local businesses.”

The new location will offer hours from Thursday through Sunday, with special events, birthday parties, and partnerships with local businesses. The Nov. 21 opening will coincide with Albertville’s tree lighting, making it a must-attend celebration.
