SBI investigating Huntsville officer-involved shooting death

HUNTSVILLE – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is heading an investigation into an officer-involved shooting Saturday.
According to Huntsville police, officers responded to a domestic violence call in the 6200 block of Rime Village Drive just before 10 a.m. Saturday.
With officers on the scene, an armed suspect fired at a fleeing woman in front of an HPD officer, police said in a news release. An officer discharged his weapon, mortally wounding the suspect.
No officers were injured during the incident.
Per protocol, HPD said it requested the SBI to investigate the incident. No other information was released by the department.
