Second suspect arrested in Kentucky for north Huntsville murder

HUNTSVILLE – A second suspect from Huntsville has been arrested in Kentucky for the shooting death of James Grays, 35, of Huntsville.

The Huntsville Police Department has charged Erica Lashawn Baker, 31, of Huntsville with murder in connection with the deadly shooting Nov. 17 on the 3000 block of Lakeview Drive.

Following an extensive investigation and consultation with the Madison County District Attorney’s Office, Huntsville police decided Monday to issue a murder warrant for Baker. She was taken into custody by U.S. marshals in Lexington, Ky., last Friday.

Kiarah Donque Jones, 34, of Huntsville was arrested last Friday in Lexington by U.S. marshals and charged with murder.

Around 5 a.m. Nov. 17, police responded to the area for a shooting, where they located Grays with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

After gathering evidence from the scene, HPD obtained a warrant Nov. 20 for Jones. He was taken into custody by U.S. marshals in Lexington last Friday.
