HUNTSVILLE – Huntsville companies SemanticGuard and CFD Research won a Small Business Innovation Research grant for their joint cyber protection solution GUARDx. The Phase II grant is valued at $1.25 million.
The funding goes toward finding a solution to Air Force F-22 cyber intrusion, detection, and prevention.
Innovative Zero Trust GUARDx is a cybersecurity application platform developed in collaboration with The Air Force Research Laboratory and the Air Force’s AFWERX technology and innovation directorate.
“We exceed the U.S. Government Zero Trust requirements for Software Assurance and Embedded Security with funding from the DoD,” said SemanticGuard CEO Eron Heard. “SemanticGuard is delivering a new category of application security to protect our nation’s critical infrastructure and DoD needs.”
SemanticGuard and CFD Research developed GUARDx under an Army Avionics Phase II Small Business Innovation Research effort with $4 million in funding from the Department of Defense.
“The Department of the Air Force is constantly searching for the next generation of technology to make our warfighters safer and more efficient,” said Col. Elliott Leigh, AFWERX director and chief commercialization officer for the DAF. “As agile innovators, we believe small businesses are the key to this goal for delivering disruptive air and space capabilities.”
