Slice of Pi? Discounts offered on pizza, other menu items on Pi Day

HUNTSVILLE – Pi is a constant as defined in mathematics. Another constant in most diets throughout the United States is pizza.

Today, a slice of Americana and other items can be had for a discount.

While Pi goes on and on, March 14 (3/14) is Pi Day and the only day the Greek letter is celebrated with discounts at participating restaurants, including some sans pizza, and bakeries.

Pi is defined as the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, or approximately 3.14159.

Fun and Not So Fun fact: March 14, or 3/14 on the calendar, is also Albert Einstein’s birthday (1879). The date also marks the death of another famous scientist, Stephen Hawking (2018)
