Huntsville Parks & Recreation will host a community open house next month to showcase the recently opened West Huntsville Recreation Center.
Spring Fest at West is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the West Huntsville Recreation Center, 150 Martin Road SW. The free, family-friendly event is designed to introduce residents to the facility and its programming.
The recreation center, which opened in December 2025, has quickly become a popular destination for fitness, activities and community gatherings, according to city officials.
The event will feature interactive games, inflatables, face painting and hands-on recreation activities led by staff to give attendees a look at what a typical day at the center offers.
Community partners are also expected to participate, including Shoot 360 basketball training and Nutty Scientists of Rocket City, providing information about local programs and services.
“This will be the first large community event hosted at the West Huntsville Recreation Center and there will be plenty of opportunities to explore,” Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett said. “We’ve seen a great response since opening and we are excited to share this added amenity.”
City officials say Spring Fest at West is intended to give families an opportunity to explore the facility, connect with staff and learn more about available programs.
Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
