HUNTSVILLE – This season, the Huntsville Museum of Art’s Museum Academy is turning Big Spring Park into a hub of creativity with classes and camps for every age and skill level.
Whether it’s kids designing their own comic book characters, adults mastering watercolor portraits, or nationally recognized artists sharing their secrets, the academy’s fall and winter schedule offers a colorful mix of ways to create, learn, and connect.

“All of our classes are designed to inspire creativity and foster a love of art,” said Laura Smith, director of education/Museum Academy at the Huntsville Museum of Art. “Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, the Museum Academy is a place to learn, connect, and create.”
From hands-on art camps for children to in-depth workshops with master artists, the Museum Academy offers opportunities for everyone to explore new skills and mediums. Kids and teens can dive into programs like Mixed Media, Drawing & Painting. Fall Break or Winter Mini Break camps will be offered and will coincide with local schools’ breaks.
Adult classes will include ceramics, oil and watercolor painting, mixed media, stained glass, brush calligraphy, charcoal, and more.
This season’s Master Artist Workshops bring nationally acclaimed instructors to Huntsville, including Jill Stefani Wagner’s Finding Light & Inspiration in Your Photo References in Pastel (Oct. 23–25) and Alan Shuptrine’s Watercolor Sunset Landscapes (Nov. 7).
Classes are held in the Museum Academy classrooms at the Huntsville Museum of Art. Fall classes begin the week of Sept. 22. Registration is open at hsvmuseum.org or by calling 256-535-6372.
