TUSCUMBIA — The Alabama Music Hall of Fame’s “Star Player” exhibit is coming back after its hiatus during COVID.

Tristen Gressett of Pell City will be the first performer featured in a ceremony today. The category was developed to showcase up and coming musical talent from the state.

Grissett was recently featured on the 20th season of “American Idol.” Tristen sang “Piano Man” at his audition in Nashville. He was voted a unanimous “yes” to send him to Hollywood. Gressett made it to No. 6 before elimination.

Also known as “The Poet”, Grissett started playing guitar at the age of 14. He recently moved to Los Angeles to further his career in the music industry.
