The 10th annual Community Kite Festival gets underway this Saturday in Huntsville

(Chicagokite, Community Kite Festival of Huntsville, Alabama/Facebook, 256 Today)

Have you ever wanted to see hundreds of kites soaring through the air on a perfect, blue-sky Alabama day? If so, grab a kite, and head to John Hunt Park this Saturday, March 5, for this free, family fun event.

Community Kite Festival

March 5, 2022

11 am – 3 pm

John Hunt Park Jaycee Building & Fields, Huntsville, AL

FREE

Hosted by Ashakiran in partnership with the City of Huntsville, the event works to foster a healthy and harmonious community. The kite festival also features demonstrations, live entertainment, children’s activities and vendors.

Saturday’s forecast calls for a high of 75 and partly cloudy skies (which my photographer friends say make for fantastic kite photos). Bring your own kite, or purchase one at the festival from Chicago Kite. Their kites will be available for purchase for $15 and up.

Previous years have showcased some wildly impressive kites and skills. Chicago Kite tells 256 Today it depends on the wind conditions, but they will be bringing kites of all different shapes and sizes to display. And because we are The Rocket City, the famed Astronaut Kite will be making the trip!
