The Celebrity Chef Series kicks off tonight in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE — Presented by the ChurchStreet Family, the Celebrity Chef Series is a weekend-long event featuring three celebrity chefs: the author of “Beyond My Chef Coat,” Chef Kevin Des Chenes; Chef Brian Duffy of “Bar Rescue”; and recent winner of the Food Network’s “Chopped,” Chef Kayla Robison.

ChurchStreet Family owner Stephanie Kennedy-Mell said this weekend provides an opportunity to not only experience food prepared by celebrity chefs, but to meet the culinary experts, ask questions, and celebrate the growing foodie scene in the Rocket City.

“We are always striving to elevate the food scene and culinary experience in Huntsville,” said Kennedy-Mell. “We have to thank our city leaders for their vision and growth. This gives us the opportunity to bring these celebrity chefs to the Rocket City.”

The Celebrity Chef Series features everything from a $95 per person celebrity chef-prepared dinner to a free Q&A in the backyard of Sea Salt.

“We are thrilled to have these three highly-acclaimed chefs here in Huntsville,” says Kennedy-Mell. “We have four great events to suit every taste and every budget.”

THURSDAY

Chef Kev D Experience

The first event kicks off Thursday night with a four-course meal prepared by Chef Des Chenes, aka Chef Kev D, at Purveyor in Huntsville. He has been featured on “Today” as well as his own show, “The Great Food Truck Race” on the Food Network.

The four-course dinner includes beverage pairings, costs $95 per person and begins at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.

FRIDAY

Meet and Greet with Food Network Chefs

Purchasing a ticket to Thursday’s or Saturday’s event is your entry to a meet and greet on the rooftop of the Pourhouse at Stovehouse on Governors Drive. “This your chance to hang out with celebrity chefs,” Kennedy-Mell said. The meet and greet is from 5–7 p.m.

SATURDAY 

Providence Meet, Greet and Eat

Come meet, greet, and eat with Food Network chefs at Providence Wine Shoppe, 485 Providence Main Street. The chefs will be serving up “little bites” Saturday from 2-5 p.m. The cost is $25; tickets can be purchased here.

SUNDAY 

Chefs Q&A

Chad Emerson, president and CEO of Downtown Huntsville, Inc., will moderate the Q&A at the backyard of the Sea Salt Oyster Bar, where he will also help unveil a mural by Jessie Andrews.  The event is free to attend and starts at 11 a.m.

“Everyone with a passion for food is invited to attend,” Kennedy-Mell said. “Come meet these amazing chefs.”

Chef Kev D

Executive chef “To The Stars” and author of “Beyond My Chef Coat,” Kevin Des Chenes has 25-plus years of experience in the hospitality industry.

He was named “Top Chef” by Las Vegas Food & Wine, He has been a chef expert for Gordon Ramsey and appeared as a featured chef on Food Network’s “Chef Wanted” and was a finalist on “Great Food Truck Race.” His other appearances include “Beat Bobby Flay,” “Today’, “The Better Show” podcast, “CT Style,” “Pickler & Ben,” “Fox & Friends,” and “The Rhode Show.” He is also the winner of “Top Celebrity Chef Showdown.”

Chef Brian Duffy

Brian Duffy is perhaps most recognizable from the television series “Bar Rescue” and his most recent show “Opening Night.” Duffy made his national on-camera debut 17 years ago on the Food Network and has appeared on other networks and streaming platforms. Duffy and his Ugly Brother Studios (with his brothers Mike and Tim) launched the “World Chef” platform, an interactive “Ultimate Foodie” platform which includes food boxes that pairs the world’s best chefs with an interactive platform. Duffy is also the creator and host of “Duffified Live” a talking and travel show with an over-the-top approach to eating, drinking, and experiences.

Chef Kayla Robison

Chef Kayla Robison is an award-winning, nationally recognized chef with more than 15 years in the restaurant industry and is a frequent guest on local and national television. Recent winner of Food Network’s “Chopped” and “Guy’s Grocery Games,” as well as appearances on “Today,” “Man vs. Food” and “Cheap Eats.” Robison creates a modern twist to classic recipes which has recently landed her among Cincinnati’s “Top 10 Best Chefs.”
