HUNTSVILLE — The National Cyber Summit is set to kick off this month at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville.
And Mayor Tommy Battle doesn’t hold back his feelings about it: “If you have a passion for cyber technology, don’t miss out on a fantastic opportunity.”
The three-day event, scheduled for Sept. 24-26, will allow attendees to learn more about strengthening cybersecurity strategies and protecting data investments. And, of course, there will also be networking opportunities.
“We are very excited to host the 15th National Cyber Summit. We have over 175 speakers over four tracks,” said Steve Pratt of Sentar, director of the 2024 National Cyber Summit. “These are highly respected cybersecurity professionals who have a lot of great topics to talk to you about. We expect over 3,000 attendees. We have this year a brand-new track – artificial intelligence in cyber. We are really excited to hear more about that.
“We have different challenges through our cyber cup. We have a job fair. Lots of things for everyone to participate in.”
Battle said the city is thrilled to host the summit.
“It is always a pleasure welcoming the brilliant minds who will join us and the people who are truly experts in the field of the cyber world,” he said at Wednesday’s news conference. “What started as a modest group, modest was about 250, with a keen interest in computer and network security has blossomed into a dynamic Cyber Huntsville initiative. This initiative has significantly boosted Huntsville’s reputation on the global cyber security stage.
“This year’s summit will feature top thought leaders and vendors who will present the latest and most advanced technologies in the cyber security area. Their presence underscores Huntsville’s pivotal role in tackling the nation’s most pressing cybersecurity challenges.”
