Thrive Alabama relocates Huntsville adult clinic; offers free health screenings

HUNTSVILLE – Thrive Alabama is on the move, literally and figuratively.

The organization has relocated its clinic in downtown Huntsville. It’s also hosting upcoming free health screenings and has started a campaign to raise money for a new larger facility outside of the city’s thriving but crowded Medical District.

Thrive Alabama announced Tuesday it moved its Adult Primary Care Clinic from the UAB Building on Governors Drive to 3500 South Memorial Parkway, just north of Airport Road.

According to Thrive Alabama, the move was driven by its commitment to continually improve the patient’s experience at the clinic. The goal was to create a space that offers patients and staff a comfortable and convenient environment.

Thrive Alabama has four locations in Huntsville and one each in Albertville and Florence.

As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Thrive Alabama offers patients access to health benefits through medical and case management services. Thrive Alabama’s Adult Primary Care offers comprehensive, evidence-based primary care services, including preventative care and common illness management.

Adult Primary Care Services include:

  • Annual exams
  • Chronic condition care
  • Acute care
  • Women’s health
  • LGBTQ+ sensitive primary care
  • HIV management
  • STI care
  • PrEP for HIV prevention

Meanwhile, Thrive Alabama is hosting a Community Health Fair at the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library’s South Huntsville branch May 11 from 9 a.m.-noon. Information on  health issues will be available.

Also, a campaign has been launched to raise money for a 72,000 square-foot, state-of-the art community health center at the corner of Oakwood Avenue and Washington Street.
