HUNTSVILLE — The 2022 Southern Fried Film Festival takes center stage at the new Orion Amphitheater in June. Tickets are on sale for the four-day-long event.
After the June 9 opening, the four-year-old festival continues at the Salty Nut Brewery and 3rd Circle Cellars in Straight to Ale from June 10-12.
According to a news release, the festival started in 2018 when Huntsville High School classmates Trevite Willis and Kelley Reischauer teamed up to bring Huntsville “an amazing” film experience.”
Willis, the festival’s executive director, was an executive producer on the Sundance 2020 award-winning film, “Forty Year Old Version.” He has been called “an award-winning producer committed to courageous storytelling and championing voices of color.”
The festival will also feature musical acts and panel discussions on the filmmaking industry in Huntsville and surrounding areas. There will also be film-related activities.
Tickets start at $25 for opening night, and $10 per event for the rest of the festival.
