‘Tis the season for a Christmas Carnival of Lights in Athens

ATHENS – It’ll be a Christmas Carnival of Lights around Athens this week.

Literally.

You see, that’s the theme for the Athens-Limestone Christmas Parade, presented by Bryant Bank.

The more-than 160 entries herald a cavalcade of floats, marching units and, of course, Santa. And it all starts 6 p.m Thursday.

Grab your family, friends, and a warm coat and come celebrate the magic of Christmas in Athens-Limestone County.

Parade organizers recommend arriving early for the best parking and viewing spots.

The parade begins at Athens Middle School, follows Hobbs Street to turn left on Jefferson Street, then left on Market Street and around the square to turn left on Jefferson and end near Hometown Grocery.

Motorists should be prepared for traffic delays throughout the night.
