‘Tis the weekend for Huntsville’s Big Spring Jingle

HUNTSVILLE — Folks will be walkin’ in a winter wonderland Friday at the annual Big Spring Jingle in downtown Huntsville.

The city’s Parks & Recreation Department invites the community to celebrate the holiday season from 5-9 p.m. in Big Spring Park. The Big Spring Jingle features festive lights, live music, a dance floor and plenty of prizes and giveaways.

“We are incredibly excited to bring back the Big Spring Jingle in collaboration with our great community partners,” said James Gossett, director of Huntsville Parks & Recreation. “This event is the perfect opportunity for everyone to come together and embrace the holiday spirit.”

A highlight of the evening will be a special appearance from Santa Claus, who will take a break from his North Pole workshop to meet visitors and pose for photos. His arrival may even bring a few flurries to the park.

For residents with special needs or sensory sensitivities, a more relaxed experience will be offered from 4-5 p.m. This hour will feature lower sound levels, smaller crowds and the chance to meet Santa without the wait.

The Big Spring Jingle is presented in partnership with Downtown Huntsville Inc. In addition to the event’s festivities, attendees can enjoy Skating in the Park, dine at nearby restaurants and food trucks along Church Street and explore the Tinsel Trail.

“With something for all ages, we’re looking forward to an unforgettable evening filled with joy, entertainment and cheer,” Gossett said.
