MADISON – For the first time in the team’s short history, the Rocket City Trash Pandas will host a season-opening game.
The Trash Pandas released their 2023 schedule and will begin at home for the first time since the inaugural 2021 season. Opening Night at Toyota Field is set for April 6 with the Chattanooga Lookouts. Game times have not been announced.
“The 2022 season has been incredible so far and it’s hard to believe it’s nearing the end,” said Trash Pandas Executive Vice President and General Manager Garrett Fahrmann. “As we get ready to finish off a thrilling 2022 season with the first Trash Pandas playoff games at Toyota Field, we are looking forward to working this offseason in preparation for the 2023 season.”
Major home dates at Toyota Field include a Memorial Day weekend series against Chattanooga, an Independence Day matchup against the Lookouts, and a season-long 12-game homestand from May 16-28 against Birmingham and Chattanooga.
The 138-game schedule runs April 6 to Sept. 17 with 69 games at Toyota Field and 69 road games. The Trash Pandas will play 87 games against North Division rivals Birmingham, Chattanooga, and Tennessee and 51 games against Mississippi, Biloxi, Montgomery, and Pensacola of the South Division.
The first half of the 2023 season ends with a six-game home series June 20-25 against Montgomery. The Trash Pandas wrap up the regular season with a six-game series Sept. 12-17 at Tennessee. The final home series at Toyota Field is scheduled for Sept. 5-10 against Pensacola.
Fireworks will light up the Rocket City sky after every Friday and Saturday home game, as well as Opening Night, May 28, and Independence Day. The promotions scheduled will be unveiled in 2023.
Fans who have booked groups for the 2022 season will have early access to renew for the 2023 season.
Meanwhile, there is still time to book a group in 2022, with six regular home games next week to close out the regular season. Playoff tickets are available with up to four games at Toyota Field.
