Trash Pandas headed for home with ribbon-cutting at Hughes Plaza

MADISON — They are growing in popularity faster than a Ben Joyce fast ball.

You could say the Rocket City Trash Pandas have rounded third after three incremental moves into larger stores at Bridge Street. But now they are headed for home with a ribbon-cutting this weekend for their largest store yet. The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m.

In a sizeable space at the newly renovated Hughes Plaza across from City Hall, the Trash Pandas are now working to keep their biggest fan, Madison Mayor Paul Finley, in the dugout across the street!

The word is he has been mumbling something about needing a new Halo Blue. His staff thought he was talking about the company Blue Halo and assured him they are already a tenant in Research Park. But he looked at them in bewilderment and headed across the street. He came back with a couple of large packages, and they were not gift wrapped!

This time the Trash Pandas are pitching a no-hitter with plenty of room for displaying more  apparel such as caps, jerseys and t-shirts, Polos, sweatshirts, hoodies and more.

They have plenty of room for new Marvel, Armed Forces, Lunaticos and championship merchandise. And, of course there are the novelties such as trading cards, socks, decals, logo baseballs, plush Sprockets, koozies, bottle openers. Not to mention golf gifts such as driver headcovers and Trash Pandas golf balls.

And the Trash Pandas will be running their online store from the onsite warehouse, making buying Trash Panda merchandise and shipping it out of state, fast, easy and convenient.

The best time to buy is right before a game and, starting tonight, the Pandas are beginning a six-game homestand so pop in and grab your gear for the game!

And if you see the mayor wandering around outside the store, just point him back across the street to his office and remind him first pitch is at 6:35!
