MONTGOMERY — The Rocket City Trash Pandas took home a big win against the Montgomery Biscuits on Saturday in a 6-1 dominant fashion.

From the outset, Rocket City controlled the game.

The Trash Pandas got on the board first with a single from designated hitter Orlando Martinez to run in Christian Moore. Moore singled, stole second base, and went to third after a fly out by Tucker Flint to get in scoring position.

Singles from Sam Brown and Denzer Guzman, a walk from Nelson Rada to start the second played a big role in the 3 RBI inning. David Mershon hit a single with bases loaded to drive in Brown, and another single from Christian Moore to run in Guzman. Flint drove in his 55th run of the season, scoring Rada on a fly out.

Orlando Martinez put the final nail in the coffin with a score in the eighth inning after a fielding error by the Biscuits gave the Trash Pandas a five run lead.

The Trash Pandas return to Toyota Field on Tuesday to open a 13-game homestand against the Tennessee Smokies.

Tuesday’s game features an Oktoberfest Glass Boot Giveaway to the first 1,000 fans 21 and over presented by Jonathan’s Grille as well as REEDS Jewelers Ladies Night.
