One of Huntsville’s own, TriVector Services Sr. vice president of Civil Systems Strategic Business Unit Marc Verhage, is one of three recipients awarded NASA’s Outstanding Public Leadership Medal at a virtual ceremony held last fall but just aired April 12 on Marshall Space Flight Center’s YouTube channel.
Verhage was nominated and selected for the prestigious award in recognition of his exceptional leadership and contributions to the Space Launch System Stages Element Systems Ground and Mission Operations Team.
Verhage met all the criteria required to achieve the award including being highly effective in achieving positive results and change; consistently exhibiting role model behavior that models NASA’s core values; proven leadership, cooperative collaboration and teamwork; and the high degree of creativity in his work.
“I am truly blessed and honored to receive one of NASA’s top awards for the work I accomplished in the past six years with SLS Stages Transportation and Logistics of Space Flight hardware to and from Marshall Space Flight Center, Michoud Assembly Facility, Stennis Space Center and Kennedy Space Center,” said Verhage. “This NASA SLS transportation and logistics team effort resulted in a beast of an Artemis SLS Rocket currently at the KSC Pad 39B getting ready for launch.”
The OPLM recognition is awarded to non-government individuals or to an individual who was not a government employee or government contractor employee during the period in which the accomplishment was achieved.
