Turner Construction, M&J Precision recognized as ULA Suppliers of the Year

CENTENNIAL, Colo. – A pair of North Alabama companies were among 10 suppliers recognized by United Launch Alliance as 2023 Suppliers of the Year.

The strategic supplier partnerships remain paramount as ULA anticipates an unprecedented growth in production for the innovative Vulcan program and doubling the launch rate to support Amazon’s Kuiper missions, ULA said in a news release.

Turner Construction was awarded ULA Supplier of the Year and Outstanding Quality Performance Supplier of the Year and M&J Precision was Production Operations Supplier of the Year.

“Strong strategic partnerships are vital to continuing our industry-leading support of our customers’ missions,” said Tory Bruno, ULA’s president and CEO. “Every year our suppliers have gone above and beyond to increase production in response to a growing demand for our Vulcan rocket while continuing a laser focus on 100 percent mission success.

“ULA is proud to recognize these trusted suppliers who have made enormous contributions in support of our mission.”

Huntsville-based Turner Construction led the design and construction of the ULA facility expansion at the ULA factory in Decatur.

M&J is a small, woman-owned machine shop supplier in Decatur that produces flight hardware for Atlas, Delta and Vulcan vehicles.

ULA works with more than 2,000 suppliers from nearly all fifty states, with a $5.9 billion five-year supplier spend and more than $11 billion total national five-year economic impact.
