FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama and the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce have signed a learning agreement to benefit full-time employees of Chamber members.

According to the agreement announced today, UNA will provide a tuition scholarship to employees who are seeking an online, on-campus, graduate, or undergraduate degree.

“The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce is delighted to be entering into this partnership with the University of North Alabama to offer our membership such generous and incentivizing scholarships,” said Chamber President Missy Evans. “The purpose of the Chamber is to advance the welfare of Hartselle and the surrounding area, and there is no better way to prosper our community than through higher education.

“Providing our businesses with a skilled and ready workforce is a key focus for the Chamber, and this partnership will not only benefit individuals but strengthen the workforce that fuels our community.”

The partnership is effective immediately and expected to benefit the Chamber’s 370 member businesses and their full-time employees.

“As the fastest-growing and most innovative university in the state, UNA is more than prepared to provide educational solutions for our partners and their employees in Hartselle,” said Dr. Ross Alexander, provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs. “I am pleased with this partnership, and we look forward to welcoming the employees into one of our many academic programs.”
