Unbeaten Havoc hosting opening night ‘Block Party’

HUNTSVILLE – Throw an axe.

Smash a car.

Catch a tune.

That’s just part of the lineup Friday when the unbeaten Huntsville Havoc hosts its Opening Night Block Party.

Fresh from a 2-0 start with opening weekend wins at Pensacola and Macon, the Havoc returns to the Propst Arena to host Birmingham.

As a precursor to opening night, the Havoc is hosting its annual Meet the Team Party on Tuesday in the Propst Arena lobby. The event is 5-7 p.m. and is open to the public. There will be free food and drinks.

Friday’s block party is also free and open to the public. It runs from 4-6 p.m. next to the arena. Fans will be able to enjoy live music, help destroy a Birmingham Bulls smash car, check out Civil Axe throwing, and greet the players on the red carpet as they arrive.

The Von Braun Center is transitioning to a cashless venue for concessions and the bars. However, cash will still be accepted for Havoc merch, chuck-a-puck, and raffles. Preloaded cards will be available for cash purchase at the box office that can be used on VBC concessions.
