Victim in fatal accidental shooting identified; was shot by juvenile

HUNTSVILLE — The victim of Monday’s accidental fatal shooting in downtown Huntsville has been identified as Christopher Keunta Hatcher, 24, of Huntsville.

Police said Hatcher was shot inside a vehicle when a firearm was discharged by a juvenile who was handling it.

As a result of these findings, no charges will be filed in this case, police.

The incident happened just after 12:30 p.m. Monday at the 100 block of Jefferson Street.

There, police found Hatcherwith a gunshot wound inside the car. Police said three other people were also in the vehicle: an adult female and two juveniles.

They were questioned by investigators.
