HUNTSVILLE — “Your money’s not any good here.”
And, effective Friday, your cash won’t be good at certain areas of the Von Braun Center in Huntsville.
The VBC is transitioning to a cash-free facility by only accepting card and mobile payments at concessions and bars.
“Following other entertainment and event venues that have seen success with a cashless model, we look forward to providing a faster, more efficient sales process for guests attending events at the VBC,” said VBC Executive Director Steve Maples.
As part of a continued effort to improve the guest experience, expedite lines, and increase safety by limiting the exchange of money, the VBC is joining an industry-wide movement to follow a cashless model.
All major digital forms of payment are accepted, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
This initial part of the transition will only affect concessions and bars within the VBC. Other areas, such as the VBC box office, VBC parking and Rhythm on Monroe will continue accepting cash payments.
To assist during the transition, pre-loaded cards will be available for cash purchase the at the box office that can be used at VBC concessions and bars.
