Voters advised to check their status; deadline approaches to apply for absentee ballot for Super Tuesday

MONTGOMERY — Super Tuesday is next week and Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen has information for voters regarding absentee ballots and registration.

“Before heading to the polls on March 5, I encourage Alabama voters to visit www.AlabamaVotes.gov where they can check the status of their voter registration, verify their polling location, and view their county’s sample ballots,” said Allen. “I want all Alabama voters to be fully prepared as they plan to exercise their constitutional right to vote on March 5.”

The deadline to return an application for an absentee ballot in person is Thursday, Allen said.

Absentee ballots being returned in-person must be received by the county absentee election manager by close of business Monday. Absentee ballots returned by mail must be received no later than noon on Election Day.

Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and voters are required to present a valid form of photo identification. For information about photo voter ID requirements or to get a free photo voter ID, click here.

Allen said he appreciated the work of local election officials as they prepare for Super Tuesday.

“As Secretary of State and a former probate judge, I will always support our hardworking local election officials across the state and ensure they have everything they need to administer safe, secure and transparent elections,” he said.
