HUNTSVILLE — The Huntsville/Madison County Chamber had to postpone a Friday breakfast with Sen. Katie Britt as the featured speaker because the junior senator from Alabama can’t make it.

She has a good reason. Votes are scheduled for Thursday and Friday in Washington, D.C.

Britt (R-Montgomery) was slated to speak for the first time at the Washington Update, a event for Chamber members and others to get news from the national political front.

The breakfast, which was scheduled to start at 8 a.m. at the Davidson Center on the grounds of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, was sold out.

“We are working with her team to reschedule this event, and we hope to share a new date with you soon,” Claire Aiello, vice president of marketing and communications for the Chamber, said in a news release.
