Wigley launches re-election campaign for superintendent of Marshall County Schools

GUNTERSVILLE — Marshall County Superintendent Cindy Wigley said she is seeking re-election, aiming to continue her mission of improving educational outcomes, expanding opportunities, and strengthening schools across the county.

ā€œI’m proud of the progress we’ve made together,ā€ said Wigley, a Republican, in a news release. ā€œOver the past several years, we’ve improved student performance, enhanced school safety, expanded support services for students and families, and made significant investments in modernizing our school facilities.

“We’ve also taken important steps to strengthen our local workforce pipeline — all while ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.ā€

Wigley, who was elected on a promise to prioritize safer schools, responsible financial stewardship, and workforce development, said she has delivered on those commitments and is ready to build on that momentum.

ā€œEvery decision I’ve made as superintendent has been grounded in honest, hard-working leadership and a vision for continued success,ā€ Wigley said. ā€œThis campaign is about deepening our impact — expanding opportunities for all students, ensuring transparency in every action, and maintaining our commitment to fiscal responsibility.ā€

Wigley said she is grateful for the opportunity to serve Marshall County and remains committed to earning the trust families have placed in her leadership.

Under her leadership, Marshall County Schools have seen improvements in key academic measures, the implementation of safety protocols and security infrastructure, and the opening and renovation of school buildings to meet the needs of a growing student population.

Wigley also highlighted the significantĀ  partnerships built with junior colleges, as well as, business and industry leaders that have facilitated the creation of new career pathways for students.

ā€œI look forward to the opportunity to continue working with our dedicated educators, staff, families, and community members to keep our schools strong, effective, and safe,ā€ she said. ā€œLet’s keep moving forward and building together.ā€
