Kevin Turner has endorsed Republican candidate Katherine Robertson in the race for Alabama Attorney General.

Turner, who has served in law enforcement since 1992 and has been sheriff of Madison County Sheriff’s Office since 2019, announced his support for Robertson as she campaigns ahead of the May 19 Republican primary.

“It is an honor to announce my endorsement of Katherine Robertson for Attorney General,” Turner said. “I have personally known and worked with Katherine over the years and I know she will do a great job as our next Attorney General. She is tough on crime and will put her experience to work for our great state.”

Robertson currently serves as chief counsel in the office of the Alabama Attorney General, where she has worked on legal efforts related to public safety, federal policy disputes and other statewide legal matters.

In a statement, Robertson said she is grateful for Turner’s support and highlighted his long career in law enforcement.

“Sheriff Turner has been a steadfast leader in law enforcement for decades, and his support means a tremendous amount to me,” Robertson said. “Together, we will continue the fight to make Alabama the safest state in the nation by putting tough, experienced leadership at the helm of the Attorney General’s Office.”

Robertson’s campaign said Turner’s endorsement adds to a growing list of support from law enforcement leaders and organizations across the state as the Republican primary approaches.

The Republican primary is scheduled for May 19.
