DOUBLE SPRINGS — Citing a “boots-on-the-ground mentality,” Winston County Sheriff Caleb Snoddy announced his endorsement of Jay Mitchell for Alabama attorney general.

“My job as Winston County Sheriff is simple: put away bad guys and make our communities safe,” Snoddy said. “Jay shares that same boots-on-the-ground mentality. He’ll be the partner Alabama sheriffs need in Montgomery — he has my full confidence and support.”

Snoddy began his career in Winston County as a corrections officer. He rose through the ranks to become chief deputy and was elected sheriff in 2023.

“Caleb Snoddy doesn’t flinch,” Mitchell said. “If you’re in trouble, he’s the one you want kicking in the door and coming to help. I’m inspired by his leadership and honored to have his endorsement.

“We’ll work together to make sure Alabama law enforcement officers have what they need to keep fighting the good fight.”
