HUNTSVILLE — It was a senior moment or, rather, several of them for the University of Alabama in Huntsville’s Alexis Woods in the Chargers’ 76-57 win Tuesday over Auburn-Montgomery in the Gulf South Conference women’s basketball quarterfinals.

Woods scored a season-high 19 points and added 16 rebounds for her second double-double of the season to help carry No. 2-seed UAH (24-5) past AUM.

With the win, Chargers advance to Saturday’s semifinals against third-seeded Lee University. It will be UAH’s first time in the semifinals since 2020.

Lili Wilken – the GSC Player of the Year – tied with Woods for the team lead in scoring with 19 points as well, going 8-of-15 from the field to go along with five rebounds, one block and one steal.

Millie Brown and Ivey Maddox added 10 points in the victory to give the Chargers four players with double-digit points.

Overall, UAH shot 45.3% (29-64) from the field and 40% (8-20) on three-pointers, while limiting AUM to 32.8% (20-61) on field goals. The Chargers also held the edge over the Warhawks in rebounds (51-32), second-chance points (20-14), and points in the paint (34-26).
