NORMAL — The Bulldogs aren’t done, yet.
In the midst of an already historic season, the Alabama A&M women’s basketball team is adding another chapter to the record book.
For the first time in Division I program history, the Bulldogs – and their school record 21 wins – will play in the 27th annual Postseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
A&M (21-10, 14-4 SWAC) will travel to Chattanooga to face the Tennessee-Chattanooga (16-14, 9-5 SoCon) Saturday at 1 p.m. in the tournament’s first round.
The game will be live-streamed on ESPN+. The Bulldogs and Mocs have met just twice before, splitting the matches with a win in 2007 and a loss in 2008.
The winner of Saturday’s contest will take on Troy University in the second round slated for March 23-25.
Meanwhile, adding to the accolades, seniors Alisha Wilson and Lauryn Pendleton were selected to participate in the inaugural women’s HBCU All-Stars Game, to be held April 6 at Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio Texas.
