Alabama A&M’s Reeves to join Belize men’s U23 National Volleyball Team coaching staff

NORMAL — Alabama A&M University women’s volleyball team head coach Dr. Brandon Reeves will head to Belize to coach the U23 Men’s National Volleyball Team coaching staff.

“I am truly honored and grateful to be selected to coach the Belize U23 Men’s National Volleyball Team,” Reeves said. “It’s a privilege to work with such talented and dedicated athletes. Their commitment inspires me every day, and I am proud to be part of their journey as we represent Belize on the national stage.

“Together, we will strive for greatness and aim for success at the Pan American Games in Guatemala.”

Reeves, in his first season at the helm of the Bulldog program, was also named to coach the Sitting team at the USA National Team Development Program this year.

AAMU will open its season next month by hosting the second annual Betty Austin Invitational. The SWAC/MEAC challenge format features Morgan State, South Carolina State and Delaware State of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and Arkansas Pine-Bluff, Southern University and the Bulldogs of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

Alabama A&M will open play in the Invitational with a Battle of the Bulldogs, facing off against South Carolina State and Morgan State on Aug. 29. The Bulldogs will round out the Challenge by taking on Delaware State on Aug. 30.
