Alabama Student Angler Bass Fishing Association tournament to make a splash in Decatur

DECATUR – Some of the best – and youngest – anglers from around the state will converge on Ingalls Harbor next weekend for the Alabama Student Angler Bass Fishing Association tournament.

Decatur’s scenic Ingalls Harbor will host nearly 40 middle and high schools for the one-day tournament next Saturday.

The event will bring together over 180 young anglers, providing a competitive and educational platform for them to demonstrate their skills and passion for the sport of bass fishing.

Competing in two-person teams with the guidance of a boat captain, the anglers will aim to reel in the heaviest bag of bass — up to five fish — to be weighed at the scales that afternoon.

Spectators are encouraged to attend and cheer on the dedicated student-athletes at the Ingalls Harbor Pavilion. The middle school weigh-in will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the high school weigh-in around 2 p.m.
