“We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss,” said Sheriff Kevin Turner. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the North family during this incredibly difficult time. We are dedicated to pursuing justice and bringing them the closure they deserve.”

According to a news release, sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene of a shooting Saturday night at the Circle K, 1006 Harvest Road near the Wall-Triana Highway intersection.
There, they found North, an employee of the store, with a fatal gunshot wound.
Witnesses told deputies a black male entered the business, walked up to the counter, and shot the clerk.
Sheriff’s deputies found the suspect a short distance from the business, and he was transported to the Criminal Investigations Divison for questioning.
Williams was then arrested and charged with murder and booked into the Madison County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
