HARTSELLE — There will be work on two bridges over Interstate-65 in Morgan County, the Alabama Department of Transportation said, but it won’t impact traffic on the interstate.

ALDOT crews will repair the approaches to the bridges carrying Parker and Bethel roads over I-65 in Morgan County in the coming weeks. Motorists should expect around-the-clock closures of the bridges and approaches for about three days each while work takes place.

The work is limited to the county/city roads, and no impacts to traffic on I-65 are expected, ALDOT said in a news release.

Weather permitting, crews will begin repairing the approaches to the Parker Road overpass at 8 a.m. Monday. ALDOT anticipates reopening the road by 5 p.m. Wednesday.

ALDOT plans to start repairs near the Bethel Road overpass the following Monday, March 25, and reopen the road on or about March 27.

For each repair, crews will erect barricades in the vicinity of the bridges and position message boards to advise motorists of the temporary road closures. Motorists should use alternate routes.
