ATHENS — Athens Parks and Recreation has closed All Kids Dugout indefinitely at the Sportsplex from damage due to a water line burst.

The line burst overnight and has caused flooding within the area and damage to some of the playground equipment.

Parks and Rec Director Bert Bradford said some of the equipment will have to be repaired and some likely will have to be replaced.

“For safety reasons we ask the public to stay out of the area,” Bradford said.

Water Services Manager Jimmy Junkin said crews are working on the line and plan to have it repaired by noon.
