CULLMAN — Heath Allbright won the Republican nomination for the Alabama House District 11 seat after Tuesday’s special primary election.

He defeated Don Fallin, 1,909-1,609, garnering 54.26% of the vote. The seat represents portions of Cullman and Blount counties, including Blountsville, Oneonta and Hanceville.

Allbright will face Democrat Alex Brasswell in the Aug. 26 special general election.

This seat became vacant this year when former State Rep. Randall Shedd joined the staff of Senate President Pro Tem Garlan Gudger.

Allbright is a lifelong resident of Holly Pond and has served two terms on the Cullman County Board of Education. He is the owner of Brighton Forestry Services, a timber harvesting and reforestation company based in Holly Pond.

Allbright and his wife, BreAnn, have been married for 18 years and have two children, Cade and Lily.
