Eggs Up Grill

ATHENS — Eggs Up Grill, a popular restaurant chain with an extensive breakfast and brunch menu, will soon have a new location in Athens thanks to a husband and wife duo who call the city home.

Scheduled to open this mont, Eggs Up Grill at Eastside Junction will be the second restaurant in the chain that Alex and Kris McLellan have opened. Their first was in Madison and this will be the third Eggs Up Grill in Alabama.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to serve a broader audience and open in our hometown of Athens,” said Kris McLellan. “The area has grown so much, and we are excited to begin serving up smiles to our neighbors.”

The Southwestern Bowl is a favorite dish.

Eggs Up Grill will serve its full menu open to close. Signature menu items include the founder’s recipe corned beef hash with potatoes, onions and special spices, as well as made-to-order omelets, buttery, grilled blueberry muffins, classic breakfast dishes, croissant-style donuts, and lunch selections including burgers, melts, salads and more.

The restaurant also caters with a menu featuring breakfast favorites such as eggs, grits, home fries, biscuits and gravy and muffins. Salads and sandwiches are available for catered lunch.

The Classic is an Eggs Up Grill staple.

With indoor seating for 128 and an outdoor patio for eight, the 4,200 square-foot Eggs Up Grill is designed to make guests feel at home. The restaurant also has a 20-seat private dining room available for larger groups or community gatherings called “The Coop.”

The restaurant will serve guests seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., with dine-in, online ordering, takeout, catering, and delivery options available.
