Auburn, Clemson, UGA and Pitt to compete in Elevate the Stage in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE – By leaps and bounds, Elevate the Stage is a premier gymnastics event.

And it returns to Huntsville for the sixth year next March with more than 1,500 youth gymnasts and four NCAA women’s gymnastics teams – Auburn, Clemson, Georgia and Pitt – taking part.

The unique competition provides a rare opportunity for youth gymnasts to compete on podium alongside their NCAA idols. The weekend-long event will conclude with a collegiate meet.

The event is March 8 in the Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center. Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. today at the VBC Box Office and online at ticketmaster.com.

“Being one of the founding teams of this meet, it is great to be back,” said Jeff Graba, Auburn women’s gymnastics head coach. “It is one of the best meets in collegiate gymnastics and it’s held in our own backyard.

“Really looking forward to the high-level competition this year, in addition to the fact that this is one of the best run meets in the country.”

With a lineup of Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas and Georgia, Elevate the Stage’s 2022 NCAA meet in Huntsville was a sellout.

All-around Olympic Gold Medalist Suni Lee competed at Elevate the Stage 2022 as a member of the Auburn women’s gymnastics team.

This year’s Elevate the Stage is the fifth time NCAA teams have competed. Elevate the Stage provides a championship-caliber platform for gymnasts to compete across the country.

“We’re excited to welcome Elevate the Stage back to Huntsville, along with the four NCAA teams, thousands of youth gymnasts, and their families,” said Mark Russell, executive director of the Huntsville Sports Commission. “Last year’s event drew an incredible crowd, and this year we hope to fill Propst Arena at the VBC to showcase to these collegiate teams what a true sports town Huntsville is.”

The Elevate the Stage meet is staged on podium – a raised platform typically only used at top championship meets, such as the Olympics.

Elevate the Stage is owned and operated by Knight Eady, a Birmingham-based sports marketing and event management firm.
