Awww yeah! Hiatt headlines Huntsville’s 805 After Five concert

HUNTSVILLE – If Lilly Hiatt’s Facebook page offers an indication of the energy she’ll bring to the Rocket City, Campus No. 805 will be rockin’ this month.

Hiatt is scheduled for the second of six 805 After Five series free concerts. She headlines June 20, which is the first day of summer, from 5-8 p.m. The storytelling singer-songwriter based out of Nashville wrote a warm message above the poster on her Facebook page announcing the engagement.

Awww yeah! cant (sic) wait to play Downtown Huntsville, Inc. 6/20 love it there!”

The concert series is presented in partnership with Downtown Huntsville, Inc. (DHI), and the Huntsville Music Office.

Hiatt is renowned for her candid and heartfelt lyrics that resonate deeply with listeners.

Daughter of acclaimed musician John Hiatt, she has carved out her own niche in the music world, blending elements of rock, country, and Americana to create a sound uniquely her own. Her music often explores themes of personal growth, heartache, and resilience, drawing on her own life experiences with a raw and authentic voice.

Hiatt’s critically acclaimed albums, such as “Trinity Lane” and “Walking Proof,” showcase her talent for storytelling and her ability to connect emotionally with her audience.

Opening for the event will be the Lana White Band, an engaging new artist in the country scene.

Referring again to Facebook, Hiatt posted in November, “ ‘This one’s for all the girls who get their haircut and never get picked to be on the instagram pic after’ is the kinda music I’m making.”

Aimed at energizing the city’s vibrant community of young professionals, 805 After Five writes in a news release that it “promises an unparalleled experience every third Thursday from May to October at Campus 805’s Butler Green Park.”

Each installment of 805 After Five will feature what the venue calls an “electrifying concert by a touring act, providing the perfect soundtrack to kickstart the weekend early. Attendees can expect an eclectic lineup of musical talents released prior to the concert each month.”

805 After Five offers more activities, including food truck vendors, artisan vendors, yard games, interactive activities, giveaways, and a wide array of refreshing beverage options from Straight to Ale and Yellowhammer.

Free on-site parking is available at Campus 805, however, attendees are encouraged to carpool, rideshare, or bike. There is a designated Rideshare Station sponsored by Timberlake, League & Brooks for easy transportation to the event.

There is also a Downtown BlueBikes station located at the entrance of Butler Green for those who would like to bike.

805 After Five is a partnership between Downtown Huntsville, Inc. and Huntsville’s Music Office. Sponsors include Bold Agency, Campus 805, Fly Huntsville/Breeze Airways, Stella at Five Points, Google Fiber, Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Huntsville Parks and Recreation, and Tangled String Studios.
