Bank Independent has announced the promotions of Anne Osborne and Hallie Mauldin, effective Jan. 1, 2026, moves the bank says reflect its long-term strategic vision, commitment to succession planning, and continued investment in its people.
Both Osborne and Mauldin represent the fourth generation of the Mauldin family to serve at Bank Independent, which was founded by members of the Mauldin family in 1947 and remains locally owned and operated.
Anne Osborne has been promoted to vice president of business strategy, expanding on responsibilities she assumed last year as the bank navigates an increasingly complex and regulated financial environment. She will continue to report to Chief Financial Officer Adam Compton.
“Anne brings a thoughtful, disciplined approach to strategy and execution,” Compton said. “As the fourth generation of her family involved at the Bank, she brings both a deep respect for our values and a vision for the future.”
In her role, Osborne supports initiatives focused on future earnings, works to translate strategic goals into action, and collaborates across departments. Bank officials said her regulatory background and broad understanding of banking operations have made her a trusted partner throughout the organization.
Hallie Mauldin, currently serving as culture and engagement officer, has been promoted to vice president of team member care. In the new role, she will lead internal communications, workplace experience, learning and development, and professional development.
“As a fourth-generation leader, Hallie carries forward a longstanding commitment to our people and the culture that defines our organization,” said Penny Camp, chief administrative officer. “Her dedication to serving our team members is evident in the way she supports their development and strengthens our culture for the future.”
Bank Independent said Mauldin’s development path was part of a long-term succession plan and included broad exposure to the bank’s culture, departments, and leadership. Officials noted her passion for team members and understanding of the bank’s mission as key strengths in the role.
Founded in 1947, Bank Independent operates 33 traditional sales offices across North Alabama, along with an on-campus Deshler Tiger Branch and a Digital Sales Office. The community bank emphasizes relationship-based banking and local engagement, with all team members residing in the communities they serve.
