Blasting planned along I-565 this week

MADISON — Traffic will be stopped periodically this week for blasting along I-565, the city of Madison announced. The blasting will be Monday through Friday for construction of the flyover overpasses at Town Madison.

Blasting times are expected at lunchtime and 4 p.m. Officers will be closing westbound traffic at Zierdt Road and eastbound at the Wall Triana Highway exit.

Lane closures should last approximately 15 minutes at each blast. All lanes of I-565 will be stopped until officers can verify roadways are clear from debris, then traffic will resume.

The flyover project includes ramps to move westbound traffic in and out of Toyota Field and Town Madison, along with easier access from Redstone Arsenal Gate 7.
