HUNTSVILLE – Santa is on his way to officially launch the Christmas season at Bridge Street Town Centre.

His arrival Nov. 18 will herald in Bridge Street’s 13th annual Lights Up holiday event.

The free community event, presented by Engel & Völker Real Estate, starts at 4:30 p.m. with local band favorite, Big Daddy Kingfish, kicking off the festivities around the Christmas tree.

As Victorian carolers stroll, there will be activity booths for the little “elves” to tinker around with fun and games.

Holiday revelers and shoppers will discover there is “Snow Place Like Bridge Street” as the Lee Company brings “Friday Flurries” faux snowfall to the splash-pad fountains near the Southern Living Store. Friday Flurries will be 6-8 p.m. every Friday through Dec. 23 with photo opportunities from Huntsville Glow.

At 6:30 p.m., Santa and Mrs. Claus with a host of holidays characters will light the 45-foot Christmas tree while holiday merrymakers shop and dine at any of the more than 75 retailers and restaurants at the Centre.

Kids can toot-toot around the wonderland on the Bridge Street Express and enjoy $1 carousel rides throughout the evening.

Then at 7 p.m., Bridge Street Town Centre will shine in holiday cheer with the 2022 Holiday Light Show.

“It is always such a pleasure to be able to bring this magical experience to Huntsville and the surrounding areas,” said Haley Buie, marketing manager for Bridge Street Town Centre. “We are so excited for our local partnerships that will make this year bigger and better than ever!”
