Brown Precision, Inc. co-CEO Roland “Greg” Brown was named the Small Business Association’s 2022 Small Business Person of the Year for the state of Alabama, an honor that recognizes an “exemplary entrepreneur” from each of the nation’s 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

The announcement came from SBA administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman.

“I am delighted to recognize our National Small Business Week winners from across the country who have stepped up to build their businesses, create jobs, and power historic recovery over the past year,” said Guzman. “Entrepreneurs are innovators and creators at their core, delivering the products and services we depend on and making our neighborhoods, towns, and cities more vibrant places to live and work.”

Since Greg Brown joined the company in 1995, BPI has grown to nearly 180 employees and over $23 million in sales. In addition to its 53,000 square-foot facility on Shields Road in Huntsville, the company also opened a new 30,000 square-foot manufacturing plant in Atmore.

“I am honored to receive this recognition but the credit for our success goes to our Co-CEO and my brother, Dan Brown and the leadership team and staff,” said Brown. “Additionally, the vision and driver behind our growth was our late father, Roland E. Brown, the founder of BPI, who’s determined spirit and disciplined management approaches guide our company today.”

Brown will be formally recognized on May 5 during the National Small Business Week Virtual Summit Awards Ceremony.

Brown Precision has been providing precision machining for clients in the aerospace and medical industries for 40 years.
