DECATUR — Barry Bullard, a lifelong resident of Decatur’s District 5, is running to represent the district on the Decatur City Council.

Bullard said his campaign will focus on accountability, experience, and a clear-eyed commitment to securing a strong future for Decatur.

“I believe in a city government that listens to the people and delivers results,” Bullard said. “This campaign is about practical solutions, strong local values, and making sure District 5 has a voice that’s truly rooted in the community it serves.”

Bullard, 66, is a graduate of Austin High School and the University of Alabama. He is vice president of EMI Power & Automation, an industrial electric motor service company where he has worked for the past 45 years.

Beyond the business world, Bullard has a long record of community involvement. He is a past president and longtime member of the Decatur Kiwanis Club and has also served as lieutenant governor of Kiwanis Division 2. Nationally, he serves as international vice chairman of the Electrical Apparatus Service Association and will become chairman at EASA’s national convention in July.

He and his wife, Belinda, have raised their family in District 5 and are the parents of Brooke and Ben and the grandparents of Everett and Olivia.
