‘Burgers Give Back’: Farm Burger helping hurricane relief efforts

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Following the wake of destruction left by Hurricane Helene, Farm Burger, is organizing Burgers Give Back, a fundraising initiative kicking off today to support hurricane relief efforts in western North Carolina.

On this day, every Farm Burger location, including Huntsville, will contribute $1 from each burger sold to assist those impacted by Hurricane Helene.

Two weeks following Hurricane Helene, many residents continue to be without power and running water, highlighting the urgent need for assistance.

“Seeing the devastation firsthand made it clear that our priority had to be supporting our staff and the community,” said George Frangos, co-founder of Farm Burger. “Burgers Give Back is our way of turning inspiration into action. It’s not just about serving burgers this week, but also about assisting people with a generator today and with their rent next month.”

Proceeds will benefit World Central Kitchen, The Ginving Kitchen, Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project, the Farm Burger staff, and other local relief organizations.

In addition to proceeds from restaurant sales, Farm Burger has set up a GoFundMe, allowing supporters to contribute beyond just purchasing a meal.

“Our longtime regulars across the Southeast, as well as members of the burger community nationwide, have been asking, ‘How can we help?’ If you can’t make it to a Farm Burger on Thursday, we’re encouraging burger lovers to donate $1 directly through our GoFundMe,” said Frangos. “We’ve also invited chefs and restaurateurs to host their own Burgers Give Back fundraisers, and we’re excited to see their creative contributions, big or small because every dollar makes a difference.”
