MADISON — Whoever was the first to say “there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch,” has never been to a CAVA grand opening.
The Mediterranean cuisine restaurant is opening its doors Friday in Town Madison. And, to celebrate “Town Madison Community Day“, CAVA is offering a free lunch or dinner Thursday before making it official.
The free meal is part of CAVA’s mission of “eating well and uplifting the communities we’re a part of.”
To that end, the restaurant is accepting and matching credit card donations up to $1,000 with the proceeds going to Hatch – Workforce Training Program. The program provides hands-on training in the culinary arts and hospitality industry, and empowers people with self-confidence and personal development skills.
CAVA, at 101 Outfield Drive, specializes in build-your-own Mediterranean bowls and pita sandwiches, with tons of vegetarian options, like roasted sweet potato, falafel, and eggplant, as well as Mediterranean-style meats, including lamb meatballs, harissa honey chicken and braised lamb.
For the free meal, there will be bowls and pitas available – one per guest. Lunch is 10:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner is 5-8 p.m.
“To sign up, pick a 15-minute time slot and make sure to hold onto your digital ticket,” CAVA said. “Please try your best to arrive on time so we can keep the line – and the hummus – flowing.”
