Chamber, NAITA host ‘Understanding tariffs and their impact on small businesses’

HUNTSVILLE — President Trump’s plans for tariffs have created controversy and questions around the community and the country.

To help answer those questions, the Huntsville Madison County Chamber is hosting a panel discussion on tariffs and their economic implications for business next month.

The Chamber and the North Alabama International Trade Association have assembled a panel of experts who will break down what tariffs are, how they affect the cost of goods, supply chains, and pricing strategies, and what small business owners can do to navigate these challenges.

The panel is led by Dr. Jason Greene, dean of the UAH College of business. He is joined by Andrew Tuggle, an associate with Womble Bond Dickinson; Dr. Ege Can, clinical assistant Ppofessor of economics at UAH; and Bill Kraus, COO, Logistics​ for Page & Jones.

They will explore the direct and indirect effects tariffs may have on the business community and discuss strategies some are using to mitigate the risk and stay competitive in an evolving market.

The event is April 15 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber, 225 Church St.
